VEGA successful at POWTECH 2010

The VEGA application technicians demonstrated the application possibilities of the extremely variable sensors for level measurement of bulk solids.
VEGA, the world market leader in the area of radar level measurement, presented reliable and safe measurement solutions for the bulk solids industry at POWTECH. During the three days of the trade fair, the interested trade delegates among the 16,000 fair visitors were able to experience first-hand the innovations in the area of level measurement and level detection of bulk solids.
The contactless, and thus absolutely reliable, measurement solution for bulk solids was in the focus: the radar sensors VEGAPULS 67 and VEGAPULS 68. The high dynamic range of these sensors allows reliable measurement even during filling processes that cause extreme dust generation and noise. The radar sensors are complemented by the non-contact microwave barrier VEGAMIP. This instrument guarantees reliable level switching in silos or tanks – unaffected by contamination and buildup as well as changing medium properties.
VEGA also presented PLICSMOBILE, a solution for worldwide measurement data transmission via the widely-used GSM/GPRS service. PLICSMOBILE rounds out the solutions with signal conditioning instruments, especially in the area of VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory). Areas of use are primarily applications where measurement and evaluation are located far away from each other, such as e.g. deep wells, elevated tanks or mobile silos.
“POWTECH 2010 was once again a thoroughly successful event attracting a lot of public interest. We are very satisfied with the large number of conversations with customers and were again able to establish many promising new contacts within the three days,” declared Freddy Vollmer, sales manager of VEGA Grieshaber KG.
