Numerous innovations presented in Hannover

Einladend und offen: der VEGA-Messestand
The influence of the volcanic ash cloud on the number of visitors from abroad was plainly felt also by the measuring equipment manufacturers. Foreign exhibitors also had a hard time getting to Hannover and many booths in the process automation halls remained empty. For inland visitors, however, the ash cloud was no obstacle to a visit at the Hannover fair. They came to get informed about innovations, projects and investment plans.
VEGA was present with many of its innovations, e.g. the optimized radar level sensor VEGAPULS. Measuring certainty as well as measuring precision were further enhanced through the use of even better electronics.
There was also the non-contact microwave barrier VEGAMIP. It guarantees absolutely reliable level switching in silos or tanks – completely unaffected by contamination and buildup as well as changing medium properties.
For differential pressure measurement, VEGA presented the new VEGADIF sensors. The differential pressure measuring technique is extremely versatile. VEGADIF can thus measure, apart from differential pressure, also filling levels, flow, separating layers and even density changes.
“At the Hannover fair we experienced how important this contact platform is for customers from abroad. Due to the flight cancellations we had very few visitors from abroad compared to previous years,” explains Frank Piotrowski, sales manager at VEGA Grieshaber KG.
“But we were quite satisfied with the inland visitor frequency at the VEGA stand. The quality of the conversations was high and the mood among visitors basically very good. The presented innovations from the areas of level and pressure measurement, such as the new differential pressure transmitter VEGADIF, met with great visitor interest. The fact that business is picking up again makes us optimistic about a successful year 2010.”
