Pressure measurement in the flue gas scrubber |
The application
The burning of industrial waste not only reduces the weight and volume of the waste, it also serves the purpose of generating energy in the power plant. For environmental reasons, the flue gases arising from the burning process have to be cleaned. The cleaning process includes an electrostatic filter as well as a flue gas scrubber which washes out and separates pollutants like HCL and SO2 by means of water and various reactants. During this process, the pressures in the cleaning tower, in the gas/gas exchanger as well as in the discharge flue are measured.
The process data
| Medium: | flue gases |
| Temperature: | up to 400 °C |
| Pressure: | ± 50 mbar |
| Environment: | highly corrosive |
The solution
Ideal for pressure measurement in the flue gas scrubber is a pressure transmitter with a measuring diaphragm made of tantalum. The very high chemical and temperature resistance of VEGABAR 61 make it the ideal solution for the requirements of the flue gas scrubbing process.
