Feeding vessels in batch operation
During batch operation, batch vessels are often used for the manufacture of a wide variety of products. Frequent and powerful cleaning processes accompany every product and batch change. During stirring and reaction processes, germ contamination is avoided by blanketing the product with inert gases. Pressurized (approximately 2 bar / 29 psig), sterile air is used to force the cream along the pipes to the filling stations. The entire production and cleaning process is characterised by temperatures up to 145°C (293°F), vacuum occurrences and the application of various detergents.
Level and pressure measurement with VEGABAR 65
The hydrostatic pressure (level) as well as the overpressure (sterile air and inert gas) is calculated via two VEGABAR 65 pressure transmitters. The actual level is then calculated by the difference between the measured values of the two sensors. The VEGABAR 65 distinguishes itself especially through its reliable thermo shock reaction and vacuum resistance.
Level detection with VEGASWING 61
To detect the maximum level as well as the empty condition, two VEGASWING 61 vibrating level switches are installed. Independent of product viscosity, VEGASWING 61 enables precise level detection of any pharmaceutical product. With a tuning fork length of only 40 mm, it can be installed directly in a pipe. The use of hygienic process fittings ensures optimum cleaning, which in turn guarantees maximum process reliability.
